Project Share: Pink Carousel Clouds

AAH - Carousel Clouds Brooch 1/28/20 -Accessories/Jewelry/Lolita/Pastel Introducing my latest creations.  My plaster castings follow the same process for each piece. First I prep my plaster. I use DAP brand Plaster of Paris which is basic and not expensive, you mix it with water to activate. Once mixed I pour into hard plastic molds. There are flexible molds for plaster but usually the less flexible molds assist in the curing of the plaster for an even structure through out the cast.  Making plaster castings is hit or miss. Most of them suffer some sort of damage when taking the casts out of the mold. Damages range from cracks and fissures to straight up broken fragments. Dealing with these issues is part of the process and can become a learning experience so it is best to take on these tasks with enthusiasm. Building experience with the medium will make creating these items more enjoyable and less frustrating over time.  e

Why You Should Use Model Magic Air Dry Clay

AAH - How I use Model Magic. 10/11/19 - Selling Art/Making Art/Creative Process/How to Over the years a common review of my videos brings up the material I love the most. Model Magic is a modeling clay So many people over the years have asked questions about using this clay that I have come up with some popular questions and answers.  Q: What is Model Magic? Glancing at this packing you might think this will too child oriented for any practical use and to a degree this is correct. Using the clay straight from the package leads to major problems such as uneven texture and drying or worse cracking.  Q. How do I fix texture and cracking? To remedy this I use a spritzer bottle filled with water to spray my clay as I am sculpting to keep it hydrated. I will also keep some in a plastic zip-lock bag and spray water in when it begins to dry. By controlling the hydration of the clay it allows for the clay to dry evenly and when it has fully dried (about 4 d...

Artist Rambles Article 1 - Starting New Projects

Creative Process Blog 1: Sketching So If you follow me on Instagram you will have noticed an increase in sketches and drawings. I currently am attempting to make a come back as a traditional artist. I have been pushing myself really hard to increase sketches and drawing time whenever I have free time. Usually at night these days. It has been an up hill in heels battle so far and I personally do not feel like I am making any progress. I have filled two sketch books so far and will be making a new sketch book soon.  Back in high school I had tons of passion and drive, there were so many inspiring things to me I kind of kept "books" on them. Fashion magazines, movies, comics whatever I saw that was interesting would make me want to create something. When I went to college my drive changed to where music was a huge influence as well as video games. I was dead set on making everything into Silent Hill or Dir En Grey inspired and I would listen to movie sound track...

Dior Addict 2014 Campaign: It Lash Mascara & It Liner

Hi Hi Everyone, in this blog I'm going to tell you all about the new Dior Addict collection. Now I did not purchase any eye shadows from this collection because I already purchased some from the new spring collection from the standard line. I also purchased the new Dior Addict Extreme lipsticks but not the Fluid Sticks. Luckily my sister purchased one of the Fluid Sticks so I can still do a video on all of my purchases and most of the products. If you haven't already please follow me on youtube @ AliceArisuHearts. Moving on to the main topic. Dior launched a new Dior Addict line of eye shadows (which I do plan on purchasing in the future.), Mascara's and Liners. These are all amazing, I personally love the mascara which is sooo beautiful, there is a black, pink, blue and purple. Off the bat do NOT purchase the pink if you are someone who is mainly concerned with being "wearable" or conservative, these are not your normal pops of color. My nail polish by the way ...
