Dior Trianon Spring Collection Overview

So this was my most anticipated spring collection that has come out this year, I was mildly interested in Lancome's Ballerine collection but I passed on that. I find that in the continental USA we see a couple browns next to a pink and say the whole palette is pink themed but one pink eye shadow does not a palette make. So! When I saw Dior's Spring collection I had to have it, also I am going to pick up the Jill Stuart Strawberry collection as soon as I can.  I did a costume look using these colors to show how you can make these really over the top, even though they may seem pretty boring. Note the Dior imprint is practically rubbed off I've been using it so much.

The reason I mention Jill Stuart is because these products seriously remind me of the quality of Jill Stuart makeup, the Trianon 5 colors is not everyone's cup of tea from a practical standpoint but as I am used to more pastel pearly finishes I really loved them. For someone with a yellow skin tone base you can expect to have these come off as sheer washes of color with the majority of impact from the pearly finish. Since these remind me so much of Asian cosmetics I was really happy that they met up to my expectation, of something like Jill Stuart eye shadows. I would say that between me and my sister, with our makeup collection the two brands are almost identical so that is why I was so excited this spring that Dior put these pastels out.

The lipsticks are also a huge bonus, I picked up both of the lipsticks and they are fantastic. Allegresse is a pastel pink that has a little coolness to it but still crazily pastel, and Rose Crinoline is a peachy pastel pink that is warm toned with a little orange coming out of it. The wear time is all day like what we usually can expect from Dior but they do dry my lips out as most lip products do. The only bad side is that they are a bit more fragrant that usual Dior lipsticks and at first I was over come by the scent but that subsided after a while (or I got used to it). They dry to a semi matte finish and apply as cream (took about 2 hours) , they do not have any shimmer, glimmer or shine to them after they dry. These lipsticks are creams but because my lips are so dry they absorbed a lot of the moisture from my lips over the day but kept every bit of their color. The best color in this palette is the brown gunmetal color, it defines the lashes perfectly and is so strong yet not as intense as it looks in the pan.

The blush, "Coral Bagatelle" I think is what most people are interested in, is a coral pink that is not pastel but is very bright and I think it compliments the sheer color of the pastels with a maturity that makes the collection as a whole very well put together, sheer colors on the eyes, lightly defined liner and bold coral cheeks even someone in their 50's could pull that off and still keep the vibrant colors. My grandmother is 80 and wears my lipsticks so I think I know what I mean. Below are some pictures of the costume look I did, to watch how I did this look please check out my youtube channel.

Estee Lauder Gilded Rose Set

Bought these a while ago but I am just posting these as a review. These are a set of eyeshadows and marbleized shimmer powder. The eyeshadows come gilded but the gold is not incorporated into the shadows. These are satin colors one light baby pink, a magenta pink, a peachy tan pink, and the fourth is a tawny rose color. Super close to matte powders and a little disappointing because the "rose gold" overlay comes right off with one swipe. The colors are very nice though even if the overlay goes away. The marble shimmer powder feels good on my skin but as I have some tan left on my skin the rose blends a little bit too much. So a fair skin or yellowed skin will really benefit from the color in the marble if you want to use it as a blush. Otherwise the shimmer looks good as a general highlight. I did not buy both at the same time I got them from my local CCO for around 16.00 a piece. Compared to retail Estee Lauder prices this is very cheap. I wished there was a rose gold match...

My favorite Air Dry Clays

Favorites change day by day for some people but I have found some reliable products that I suggest using.  Air dry clay takes about 3 days to dry but that is the minimum I have found. Anywhere from 3-7 days is for any object to be completely dry not just to the touch. I consider clays dry when they are completely dry on the inside and outside. Raccoon Honey I just got so I haven't used it yet. Hearty is a Japanese brand resin clay. Crayola makes Model Magic and their own form of air dry ceramic clay. Creatology is very cheap and good for simple sculptures. I did not include Kutsuwa brand clay since I don't like it very much. I don't like Debika clays either I find them to be along the lines of Kutsuwa clay. Kutsuwa clay - very moist paper clay that is easy to mold, mix with glue to soften the clay if it dries out. Feels spongy when wet but dries hard.  Takes over 5 days to dry hard (not just to the touch but throughout the clay), light weight hard texture when abs...

Project Share: Pink Carousel Clouds

AAH - Carousel Clouds Brooch 1/28/20 -Accessories/Jewelry/Lolita/Pastel Introducing my latest creations.  My plaster castings follow the same process for each piece. First I prep my plaster. I use DAP brand Plaster of Paris which is basic and not expensive, you mix it with water to activate. Once mixed I pour into hard plastic molds. There are flexible molds for plaster but usually the less flexible molds assist in the curing of the plaster for an even structure through out the cast.  Making plaster castings is hit or miss. Most of them suffer some sort of damage when taking the casts out of the mold. Damages range from cracks and fissures to straight up broken fragments. Dealing with these issues is part of the process and can become a learning experience so it is best to take on these tasks with enthusiasm. Building experience with the medium will make creating these items more enjoyable and less frustrating over time.  e
